Kathleen Cienkowski

Associate Department Head (Audiology) and Associate Professor

Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences


Dr. Cienkowski studies speech perception for hearing-impaired listeners with an emphasis on aging adults and their use of hearing aids to improve speech understanding. She currently is investigating the benefits of AR among adults with acquired hearing loss. Her work has been funded by National Institutes of Health and the Veterans Administration. She is the Past-President of the Academy of Rehabilitative Audiology, Coordinator for the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Special Interest Group 7: Aural Rehabilitation and Its Instrumentation, and Associate Editor for Journal of Speech, Language and Hearing Research (JSLHR) Hearing Section.
