November 29th, is Native American Heritage Day. This day was dedicated to encourage all Americans to learn about the culture, tradition, and history of Native Americans and their past, present, and future. The University of Connecticut’s Land Acknowledgment Statement, can be found here: https://diversity.uconn.edu/land-acknowledgement/.
To honor and spread awareness on this day, we would like to highlight some information regarding Native American languages. This is an important step in cultural responsiveness and education, an integral aspect of providing culturally competent services in our field of speech and hearing.
