Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences

Dr. Maggu is an auditory-cognitive neuroscientist and audiologist who investigates how short-term (e.g., auditory training) and long-term (e.g., language experience) auditory experiences shape the central auditory nervous system in both typical and atypical populations. At the University of Connecticut, he directs the Auditory Perception and Neuroscience Lab, where he integrates behavioral and electrophysiological approaches to better understand listening difficulties and support the development of effective tools for screening, diagnosis, and intervention of auditory processing disorders.

Dr. Maggu completed postdoctoral fellowships at the Kresge Hearing Research Institute at the University of Michigan Medical School and at the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience at Duke University. He earned his PhD from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and has international clinical experience as an audiologist.
