Last Friday, April 11, 2025, was SLHS Prevention Fest!
Prevention Fest is held virtually by Dr. Hinchey and Professor Wittke each year. Second Year MA-SLP and Au.D students choose a population and topic of their interest (speech-language or hearing related) to provide awareness or preventative education about. Students then share their prevention projects and results. First year Au.D and first year MA-SLP students attended and asked questions about the projects and discussed obstacles to completing prevention, as well as future directions of the projects. Students then voted on their “favorite” presentations. Congratulations to this year’s winners: Virginia York, Megan Brigham, and Lauren Bauer whose project was “Military Hearing Loss Prevention ” and Erin Beckwith and Emma Kelleher whose project was titled “AAC Awareness for First Responders.”
