CLAE Course Tours the UCSHC

Last week in Collaborative Learning and Academic Engagement (CLAE) class, students explored the UConn Speech and Hearing Clinic. See below to read reflections from the students:

  • “I found it really insightful to hear about the clinicians’ personal backgrounds and stories on how they got to where they are today.”
  • “Looking at the audiology sound booths was really fascinating… I think my favorite part was seeing all the toys and the two-way glass in the observation rooms.”
  • “Seeing all the booths was very cool and interesting. I had no idea how many resources, faculty, offices, and labs were in there.”
  • “I like how there are lockers and more chairs and tables to sit at and study. I think this tour was extremely beneficial and really cool to see.”
  • “I found it really cool to see the graduate study room… many of the booths have observation areas where students and faculty can watch.”

The course is proud to offer opportunities that connect classroom learning to real-world clinical settings. #UConnSLHS #CLAE #SpeechAndHearing #HandsOnLearning #StudentVoices #UCSHC
