Meet Dr. Anna Fowler! Dr. Fowler is a pediatric audiologist at the University of Miami Health System, where she works as part of an interdisciplinary team. She earned her B.A. in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from the University of Connecticut and her Au.D. from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences in Arizona. She completed her externship at the Children’s Hearing Program at the University of Miami Ear Institute and stayed on as a provider after graduation. Dr. Fowler’s passion for audiology was sparked by her cousin Annie, who was born with profound hearing loss, igniting her interest in pediatric audiology.
Dr. Fowler’s clinical focus includes diagnostic testing, sleep-deprived auditory brainstem response (ABR) testing, hearing aids, and non-surgical bone conduction devices. She spends four days a week working with pediatric patients and one day with adults, managing a variety of cases that keep her job engaging and rewarding. One of the most fulfilling aspects of her work is seeing her patients progress in speech and language development and learning to advocate for themselves. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Fowler is developing a clinic protocol for follow-up periods for certain diagnoses and conditions.
A fun fact about Dr. Fowler is that she has three cats, who have traveled with her from Arizona to Florida!
