Aural Rehab Class Explores ADA Concepts

Students in Prof. Cienkowski’s Introduction to Aural Rehabilitation class recently explored concepts related to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). They met with community stakeholders last week. Allegra Klein from the Eastern CT HLAA shared information on accommodations for hearing differences in CT. Howie Gallagher from Cosmic Service Dogs discussed how service dogs are selected and trained. ‘DC’ and ‘Mini’ were kind enough to demonstrate their skills at trained tasks like balance supports, item retrieval, and allergen detection.
